this song has been covered a LOT.
it's still great.
the original version.
this one is pretty groovetastic.
this one is like listening to jethro tull on acid at the same time you are listening to donovan on shrooms....or something like that.
the video for this joan jett version is pretty stupid but just ignore it and listen to the song

there's more than just thriller
and here's the disco version
this one i had never heard of before but it's actually pretty good 70s sludgey and proggy with a grace slick wannabe.
tom savini's in it!!

footnote: billy idol's "dancin with myself" obviously belongs on here but i can't embed it so go watch it here.
you need to watch these in order
this song and video kickass.
Adriano Celentano- "Prisoncolinensinainciusol"
they're singing in english so just in case you didn't get all that, here it is with the subtitles.....in english....even though they're singing...in english.
the late 80s/early 90s came around and some dude decided to do a remake.naturally.
the girl in that looked like a reject from ll cool j's mama said knock you out video.
and then here's will smith on some italian version of "don't forget the lyrics" trying to make heads or tails of the song...
the don't forget the lyrics version sounds like peter bjorn and john and will smith is like bill murray's character from lost in translation.

some *real* sci-fi horror
i was having dinner with a friend last night at a chinese buffet and we were joking about how full we were. she said she looked like she was pregnant then said "it's like fetus in fetu!" i said "what's fetus in fetu???".she told me.i had extreme difficulty in believing her after the explanation. and then i looked up "fetus in fetu".
it might have been because i was so full on chinese food but looking at a couple pictures made my stomache turn. and the horror/gor lover that i am i certainly don't have a weak stomache.
and for the record-i texted quite a few of my friends to see if anyone else i knew had heard of it-only two of them had heard of it. 3 people assumed i was talking about the name of some new band and 1 person thought maybe i was referring to thai food.

need,want,desire
so i just moved into a new apartment this weekend. making a fresh start of things.
here are a few things i am currently wanting for the new place:
for the kitchen:
i do need a new toaster so why WOULDN'T i get one with a phillies logo?
pizza needs to get sliced somehow right?
i want a new shower curtain and i'm narrowing it down to one of these:
for the living room area:
well,i just need it ok?

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
tonight i get to go see "they live" for movie monday at the troc. yay!
not only does it star rowdy roddy piper, not only does it have one of the longest fight scenes in history, not only influential to shepherd fairey's "obey" campaign...but it's so much more relevant today than when it came out in 1988.it's almost spooky how much things have changed in society politically and economically.
i've seen it a bunch of times before of course but it'll be fun to see on a big screen.

Census: For Many Marriage Can Wait.
not to sound bitter or anything but most people are kind of flaky and wishy washy to begin with nowadays.people are so quick to run away from their problems at the teensiest sign of a an issue rather than work at things-everyone is a pussy afraid of confrontation/work- just expecting everything to be a cakewalk.spoiled by convenience.we are in a commitmentphobic era for the most part
not to mention that sadly most of the people i know that got married were mostly afraid of being alone and just "settled" i think.i'm not sure which is a sadder state of affairs....
whatever happened to true love?
