hail santa

holidaze

kick

i love both beck and inxs-kick is one of those near perfect albums every track all the way through. and this is a pretty cool interpretation.i especially love the version of "never tear us apart" which the song has always been in this weird limbo between sexy where this would be on my list of songs if i ever were a stripper and slightly heartbreaking like it should be in a movie during a breakup where someone is walking in the rain. it always feels slightly romantic at the same time and makes me want to slowdance to it nonetheless. i'd like to start a project like this in the new year.(hell,in actuality I. JUST. WANT. TO. PLAY.)i just have to find people who aren't flaky and want to just have fun playing music doing something like this and challenging ourselves with interpretations.
there are "artists" i can't stand and songs i hate but sometimes there is actual great songwriting past the bullshit pop stars and production.i don't feel that way about inxs by a long run but i have a slight obsession with covers and re-interpretations of pop songs.

it's like turning something that was marketed as boxed velveeta into a fine sharp aged cheddar worthy of martha stewart or something.

disclosure-i'm slightly stoned as i type this but i'm pretty sure i'm still expressing what i mean clearly...maybe

back to the status quo

uncharacteristically sappy

it's totally not my style of music or something i would EVER really listen or give a chance to,i just happened upon it.wow, this song actually made me just legit tear up and gave me chills.

it's incredibly heartfelt and romantic.the lyrics are perfect- it's exactly how i feel about my boyfriend but could never put it so beautifully into words..

i'm suprised i had never heard the original bob dylan version (which you can hear here for posterity). i am a fan of dylan's songwriting but not always his voice. it comes off so much more heartbreakingly beautiful on the adele version or even the lea michelle version ( i can't believe i am complimenting something that came from a show i loathe that much let alone that i even bothered to listen to it but there must be an extra shot of estrogen running through me today because that version is incredibly emotionally powerful as well-WHO AM I TURNING INTO??? i better throw on some sabbath to even out my day)

what's in the box?

christmas humiliation

regular christmas

miss christmas

robbie's track record of great videos intact
